A couples pottery class is a hands-on session where two people sit at the wheel together, shape clay with their own hands, and leave with something they made as a pair. At Clayable in Singapore, this makes a good change from the usual dinner and a movie, and gives you a piece to keep afterward.

What happens during a class

Every session starts with a quick introduction from your instructor, who shows you how to centre the clay before you touch it. From there, you and your partner work the wheel side by side, with help on hand whenever the clay slips or loses shape. Most people leave with mud on their hands, a bit of a laugh, and a new skill they picked up together.

How booking works

  1. Choose a class length and pick your package below. Sessions run from 50 minutes up to 2 hours, depending on what you book.
  2. Pick a date and time that works for both of you from the booking calendar.
  3. Arrive in clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Aprons are provided, but clay does get everywhere.
  4. After your session, your piece goes through drying, glazing, and firing. This takes four to six weeks, and we will reach out once it is ready to collect.

Why book a class instead of a regular date

Clay does not care how good you are at it, and that is most of the fun. You have to talk to each other to get it right, which usually turns into more laughing than either of you expect. By the end, you also walk away with something real, not just a receipt or a ticket stub.

Planning something bigger than a date for two? Our party packages cover larger groups instead.

FAQs

What should we wear to the studio? -

Wear comfortable, loose clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. We provide aprons, but clay will likely get on your clothes. Keep your fingernails short for easier wheel throwing.
