The Complete Beginner’s Guide to Taking a Pottery Class in Singapore

The Premier Pottery Studio in Singapore

Clayable is a pottery studio on Havelock Road in Singapore, open to anyone who wants to work with clay and ceramics. We teach wheel throwing, hand building and pottery painting to beginners and returning students. Whether you’re looking for a quiet afternoon with clay, an idea for a date, or an activity for a group of friends, our classes are easy to join and easy to enjoy. No experience is needed. Every session starts with the basics and builds from there.

Pottery Classes for Every Skill Level

Our pottery studio runs two main types of hands-on classes: wheel throwing and hand building. Wheel throwing uses a spinning wheel to shape round pieces such as bowls, cups and plates. Hand building uses pinch, coil and slab methods to make pieces with more texture and less symmetry. Both classes are led by our trainers, who walk you through each step so you always know what to do next, even if this is your first time touching clay.

These sessions are booked for a set group size and time, so your group gets the studio and a trainer to yourselves. This works well for teams looking for a shared activity away from the office, couples wanting a different kind of date, or families marking an occasion together. Group sizes and pricing vary by session type, so reach out and we’ll help you plan the details.
